Kindle Edition of My Kindle Fire Imminent
December 27, 2011The Kindle edition of My Kindle Fire is due for release very soon, likely by tomorrow. We had hoped for a pre-Christmas release, but it didn’t quite make it. The print version should be right on its tail with a release date of January 16th.
If you want the best guide to using your Kindle Fire and how you can use Calibre, Handbrake, and other software to add your own content, you’ll definitely want to get your hands on a copy of the book. You can check out a 4-page spread sneak peek of the book right now at Amazon.com.

Using Amazon’s Manage Your Kindle Page
My Kindle Fire contains comprehensive coverage of the Kindle Fire, but it also contains information on using many other tools and sites that are useful for Kindle owners. One of those is Amazon’s Manage Your Kindle page.
This page shows you a sample of one of the pages in the chapter dedicated to showing you how you can use Manage Your Kindle to send content to your Kindle Fire, manage your Kindle devices, manage your subscriptions, and much more.

I hope that these sneak peeks will give you an idea of how my book is laid out and what you can expect when you get your copy. I can promise that you won’t find a better book on using your Kindle Fire. No other book on the Kindle Fire has the comprehensive coverage and the unique layout and presentation that you’ll find in My Kindle Fire.

Help Categorize My Kindle Fire
December 16, 2011Amazon’s catalog of books relies heavily on tags. A tag is a word or phrase that’s associated with a particular book. For example, “Kindle Fire” is a tag that is associated with My Kindle Fire. The more people that associate a particular tag with a particular book, the more weight that tag has.
I’d love it if everyone would help me to get my book categorized properly. Just to go the Amazon page for My Kindle Fire and scroll down to “Tags Customers Associate with this Product.” Put a check in the box next to the tags that you feel are appropriate, and feel free to add your own tags as well.
Thank you!

My Kindle Fire Finished
December 9, 2011I have just completed my final review pass of My Kindle Fire, my step-by-step guide to the Kindle Fire. The final review is performed against PDF copies of the chapters with all of the layout complete. We do this final pass in order to ensure that everything is formatted correctly on the page. It involves reading through the entire book (in the same format that you’ll see when you get it) and ensuring that everything makes sense, that all of the steps are in the right place, and that it looks perfect on the page.
I’m happy to report that the book looks amazing. Que Publishing (my publisher for almost 10 years now) has done a fantastic job of putting this book together. The book is in full-color with literally hundreds of screenshots. We cover not only the Kindle Fire in its entirety, but also Calibre (a free tool for managing your eBook library), Handbrake (a free tool for converting your videos for use on the Kindle Fire), Amazon’s cloud services, the Manage Your Kindle page, and much more. The printed book is on high-quality slick paper in full-color as well, and it’s the perfect size to carry with your Kindle Fire.
I said it on my page at Amazon; out of all of the books I’ve written (and there are close to a dozen now), this is the one that I’m most excited to get into the hands of my readers because I know how much people will love it.
